Personalized chess board

I've been making these fun chess boards with a temple and wedding date painted on the back.
I rough them up and make them look vintage.
The pieces are from the dollar store and I store them in a small jar with some twine around the top.
So cute!
The picture quality is pretty bad on these.

Great vintage finds!

I found this great little spritzer at our Salvation Army for .50 cents!!!
It works better than every squirt bottle I've owned!

My brother was cleaning out his shed a few weeks ago and we stumbled upon this little oil can.  It cleaned up fast and easy with goo be gone.  It even makes the sounds like on Wizard of Oz!

Thrift store find tiered display

I found this great tiered display at Salvation Army and painted it with my new favorite paint - Rustoleum Painters touch "Heirloom white"
I love it!

Glass decor

Here is a cup thing I found at the thrift store.  It was gold.  Ew.  I painted it black and glued a dollar store vase to the top of it.  I think it turned out cute!

Happy Birthday Thomas!

The girls had a ball shopping for Daddy's Birthday cake and dinner fixins with their own little shopping cart!  I'm not sure my resulting bruised legs and knees will recouperate fully from the experience (o:
The girls need driving lessons.

Odd sock keeper

I found a fourth of july sign in my "lucky dumpster" just near my place and painted it up to keep the odd socks.  Scrapbook paper and modpodge added some color to clothespins glued on with e-6000.
*More about my "lucky dumpster" on another post (o:

Pigeon nest

We found a special surprise on our patio the other day!  A pigeon made a nest right on the ground under a patio chair by our kitchen window!  Faith and Rahel check it daily and are just beside themselves with excitement and anticipation (o:  We now have 2 eggs and are eagerly waiting for babies!  The mommy pigeon is quite large as are her eggs.  She has iridescent green feathers on her underside.
So fun!

Bean ball #1

This is the PERFECT craft for a night you want to stay up watching movies.  It's SUPER cheap, SUPER easy and SUPER cute!  I used a styrofoam ball from the dollar store and hotglued white beans standing up all around it.  It was actually kind of relaxing!  It probably cost me about $1.10 to make!  So fun!

Summer Popsicle holders

I used my felt scraps to make these popsicle holders for my girls.  I am tired of them using every wash cloth I own to keep their hands warm all summer!  These work GREAT!
These are just an idea.  They're not very cute, but I've already dreamed up some really cute ideas!
Easy Peasy!

"Green" necklace

This Necklace is made from the bottom of a soda can I saved after last marinade.
I cut the bottom off with scissors and used pliers to bend up the sides to make a flower.
The color is nail polish - you can use ANY color - oh the possibilities!

Dollar Store Manicure/Pedicure kit

I began with Hot pads from the Dollar Tree

Hot glue and ribbon make the closure

Because I am lazy, I just hot glued fabric onto the back side of the hot pads.
A scrap of elastic glued to the middle holds a file and a cuticle pusher.

I also glued the fabric down the middle to make pockets for nail polish etc.

Teacher appreciation gift

Faith made these cute ladybug bookmarks to give her teacher last week.
School is out!!!!  Yay!!!

Happy 4th Birthday Rahel!

I can't believe how quickly time goes by!
I love Rahel's loving ways
I love that Rahel stops in the middle of her play and runs over to me for a kiss
I love that Rahel comes up and asks for hugs several times a day
I love that there are NEVER too many kisses and hugs in a day for Rahel
I love the friendship and amazing bond that Rahel and Faith share
I love how good Rahel makes people feel about themselves in a matter of seconds
I love that Rahel will grab people from the shopping cart and start up a conversation with them
I love Rahel's love for people
I LOVE MY LITTLE RAHEL
Happy Birthday!

Easter fun!

April Fool's (a little late)

Here's a late post of April Fool's Day.  I'm going to try and catch up on blogging this week.  I'm feeling a little more alive now and ready to tackle life and all the projects swimming in my head!

These are the tricks I played on the girls this year.  The girls thought it was the funniest thing EVER!  I love that I'm still a "cool" Mom.  I'm sure that will wear off all too soon.

Can you guess what our dinner items really are?
"Fried eggs"

(Peach halves on vanilla yogurt)

 "Cupcakes"
(Meatloaf cupcakes with beet mashed potato frosting)

 "Juice"
(Jello)
